Non-members: Regular Admission
That loud rumbling headed toward Tellus is the sound of the dozens of vehicles revving up for another Heavy Metal in Motion.
This year’s event on Saturday, October 19 will once again feature plenty of vehicles, from vintage cars and tractors to larger than life trucks, helicopters and more. Visitors can get up close and climb on or in many of the vehicles on display.
Special activities for kids will be geared toward the science behind making things move. Kids will also enjoy a miniature train ride and a big rig inflatable slide. We’ll also be giving away Tellus trading cards to add to your collection.
Warning: it’s going to get loud! At scheduled times throughout the day you’ll hear revving engines of many of the cars, trucks and motorcycles onsite.
Don’t miss all the action at this year’s Heavy Metal in Motion. The event is free for members and included in regular admission for non-members. Keep an eye out here for information coming soon!
New this year:
Lecture: “The Photography of the Reaching High exhibit”
Join us on October 19 as aviation photographer John Slemp shares the technical details and aesthetic considerations that went into the making of the Reaching High photographs.
During this lecture John will talk about the technical details that every photographer must choose when creating images – exploring why a particular setting was chosen, and the emotional and aesthetic impact it has when creating images.
Arrive early and see the exhibit and then bring your questions to the lecture. The artist will be available to answer questions in the exhibit after the lecture.
