SUMMERQUEST PROGRAM
JUNE AND JULY 2024 ONLY
Enjoy a rainbow of fun with SummerQuest: The Science of Light + Color! Join Tellus as we investigate light and how it affects what we see. Students will use science to create their own “secret” messages and even take home a special decoder. The program includes a guided tour through all four museum galleries, as well as a visit to the museum Store. It will be an enlightening experience for all!
Please review the following information carefully and share with the other caregivers on your team.
PROGRAM
- Targeting ages 5 years through 12 years.
- Two-hour program.
- Students will participate in a lab where they will make their own "secret" messages and enjoy hands-on color related activities outside.
- Students will tour the remainder of the museum in 20 minute rotations, including the museum store, which is part of the program rotation.
- After the program, visit other areas of the museum on your own for the rest of the afternoon!
Activities subject to change without notice.
CHECK-IN
- Arrive at 10 AM for check-in.
- Share how many students are attending.
- Share how many leaders and adults are attending.
START TIMES
- Monday – Friday throughout June and July.
- The program is 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM. Please arrive at 10 AM for check-in.
PROGRAM PRICING
- $12.00 per student
- One FREE group leader with every 10 students.
- Additional leaders and chaperones $19 each.
- 15 student minimum requirement. Groups larger than 35 will be split accordingly. 210 students maximum per day.
- Family Museum Membership does not cover the cost of children’s programs.
PAYMENT
- Remainder payment due upon arrival.
- We require that one person check in and pay for the entire group and use one form of payment.
- If attending multiple days, please bring payment each day or pre-pay for all groups ahead of time.
- We accept school checks made payable to Tellus Science Museum or Visa, Master Card, Discover, AMEX.
- $100 deposit added to balance due 4 weeks prior to visit date.
PLANETARIUM ADD-ON
- Planetarium shows may be added for an additional $2.50 charge per person.
- Please note that everyone will be charged the planetarium fee.
- Planetarium show time is 1:45 PM. Limited capacity.
LUNCH
- Please leave lunches on the bus.
- Outdoor picnic pavilion is available at no cost.
- If you would like to purchase box lunches from our Café to eat in our pavilion, please order at least a week in advance.
PHOTOGRAPHY
- Still and video photography is permitted for personal and educational use only. Unless otherwise posted, photography is permitted in the exhibit galleries. Tripods are not permitted inside the museum building unless permission is granted by the museum. Exceptions may occur; please inquire at the museum’s Front Desk.
RESTROOM
- For your comfort and convenience the museum has exterior restrooms located by the drop off circle. It will save instructional time if your students use this restroom upon arrival.
