Daisies, Brownies, & Juniors: Night Sky

Registration for this program closes at noon on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 or when the program reaches maximum capacity.

Come experience the stars of Tellus Science Museum! During the Night Sky program, Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors will work toward the requirements of the Space Science Explorer,  Space Science Adventurer, and Space Science Investigator badges (respectively).  While at Tellus, scouts will tour the night sky in the planetarium and learn about the major constellations of each season, like Orion, Big Dipper, Polaris, and Cassiopeia.  Scouts will learn how to make and use star wheels, make a model solar system, and investigate Moon phases. Other activities will include learning how to use a telescope and viewing the Moon, the Sun, and sunspots (weather permitting).

UPCOMING EVENTS

Program will consist of 3 rotations 50 minutes each.

1at Rotation: Watch a live planetarium show.

2nd Rotation: Star Wheel activity in the presentation theater.

3rd Rotation:
– Moon Phase activity in Lab 4
– Solar observation or view images if cloudy in Lab 3

All groups end at the Store where Tellus patches are available for purchase.
