join geology program manager hannah eisla for a live ship to shore broadcast aboard the joides resolution (jr) research vessel off the shores of iceland!
The JR is a research vessel that drills into the ocean floor to collect and study core samples. Scientists use this data to better understand climate change, geology, and Earth’s history. It is part of the International Ocean Discovery Program funded by the National Science Foundation. Hannah was one of the educators selected for the 2023 School fo Rock program aboard the JR as it travels from Reykjavik, Iceland to Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
During this live broadcast, Hannah will take us on a tour of the vessel and answer questions from the audience about the ship and the work it is doing.
