• Make your own nebula with paint. • Use a sun spotter to sketch the Sun. • Play astronomy games Space Bingo and Space Guess Quest. • Learn about star formation and gravity wells. • Experiment with shadows. • See demonstrations and receive giveaways from a NASA Ambassador (1 – 4 PM). • Watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens at 5:30 PM. Limited seating and tickets are first come, first serve. • Make a Star Wars mask. • Get a FREE Star Hat while supplies last. • Take an outdoor star walk on the Museum grounds featuring a live tour of the night sky with Tellus Director of Education and Astronomer David Dundee. • Stargazing will begin at 1 PM in the Observatory to view our closest star, the Sun. We will be looking for sunspots and prominences through our solar telescope.
EVENING
Family Activities, 5 – 8 PM unless otherwise noted:
• Stargazing continues in the Observatory until 11 PM, shifting to celestial objects such as Mars, the Moon, double star Gamma Leo, galaxies M81 and M82, and the Ghost of Jupiter nebula.
