At RockFest there are so many ways for you to get into the rock habit! Visit our demonstration table to watch local experts show their lapidary techniques. Get hands-on with our geology-themed activities to start your own collection or make new connections with our visiting organizations. You can even get in on the action when you purchase a geode and have it cracked open to see what treasure you might find inside!

Just getting started collecting minerals and fossils? RockFest is a great opportunity to have your specimens identified. If you have unearthed something that seems rare or unique bring it to the Mineral and Fossil ID Table to have it checked out by our experts. Already a rock hound? RockFest is one of the best times to find and purchase specimens for your collection.

Want to win awesome prizes? Every hour, one lucky visitor will win a door prize from one of our dealers as you check in. In addition, you can stop by the Banquet Rooms and register to win the grand prize – a stunning fluorescent calcite specimen. The grand prize winner will be announced after the show, but don’t worry – you do not have to be present to win.

With all the shopping and activities, you will need a break! Members can enjoy a complimentary frozen treat at the Member Hospitality Table located on the back patio. If lunch is what you need, the Tellus Café will be serving a cookout-style menu inside the Museum and at the Back Patio Café.
