The Solar House is open for tours Thursdays – Sundays, 1 – 4 PM.
Still and video photography is permitted for personal and educational use only. Unless otherwise posted, photography is permitted in the exhibit galleries. Tripods are not permitted inside the museum building unless permission is granted by the museum. Exceptions may occur; please inquire at the museum’s Front Desk.
No outside food (snacks, bag lunches) or drink is allowed in the museum.
The museum has a Café where items may be purchased and consumed.
A picnic pavilion is available for Tellus guests.
Please consider leaving large items such as backpacks in your vehicle.
Lockers are available to check smaller items.
Guests under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult to visit the museum.
Tobacco, including smoking and the use of smokeless tobacco, electronic cigarettes or vaping devices is prohibited in the museum and on the museum grounds. Tellus is a tobacco-free campus.
Tellus is a weapons-free facility. Firearms, weapons, and explosives are prohibited.
Pets (except service animals) are not permitted in the museum.
Strollers are permitted in the museum. Stroller parking is available in certain areas.
Wheelchairs are available on a first come first serve basis.

Take I-75 North to exit 293
Turn left at the bottom of the exit
Travel less than a half a mile to the traffic light
Turn left onto Tellus Drive
Tellus Drive terminates in the museum parking lot
Take I-75 South to exit 293
Turn right at the bottom of the exit
Immediately merge over to the left turn lane at the traffic light
Turn left onto Tellus Drive
Tellus Drive terminates in the museum parking lot
Take US 411 to Cartersville
Take the Cartersville/Atlanta exit (when US 411 merges with US 41)
Drive 3.5 miles
Take the Hwy 411/Atlanta/I-75 exit
At the end of the ramp, turn left
Stay on this road for approximately 4 miles. (Highway 411 North / North Tennessee Street)
Turn right at the 2nd traffic light onto Tellus Drive
Tellus Drive terminates in the museum parking lot
Take either Hwy 278 to Hwy 113, or Hwy 61, toward Cartersville
Both will become Main St. west of Cartersville
Stay on Main St. and go to I-75
Take I-75 North to exit 293
Turn left at the bottom of the exit
Travel less than a half a mile to the traffic light
Turn left onto Tellus Drive

To avoid traveling on I-75:
On Main Street take a left onto Tennessee Street. Follow Tennessee Street north for about 5.5 miles. Turn right just past Waffle House at the traffic light onto Tellus Drive

Travel Highway 20 West to I-75
Take I-75 North to exit 293
Turn left at the bottom of the exit
Travel less than a half a mile to the traffic light
Turn left onto Tellus Drive

Go north, past Allatoona Lake and past Cartersville city limits.
Take the Hwy 411 North exit just past the hospital.
At the bottom of the ramp take a left.
