FOSSIL FRIENDS
Come visit Stan the T-rex and Lane the Triceratops as these two dinosaur friends find out if objects are alive or not, what living things need, and how living things grow and change. Students will model a unique living organism in its habitat.
Field Trip - APPROXIMATELY 2 HOURS
30 MINUTES – FOSSIL GALLERY
– Meet Stan the T-rex and Lane the Triceratops
– Discuss living or non-living things
– Consider the basic needs of animals
30 MINUTES – LAB
– Learn how to move like a dinosaur
– Review the basic needs of animals
– Match young animals to their parents based on their similarities and differences
– Create an animal based on their environment
30 MINUTES – FOSSIL DIG
30 MINUTES – STORE
TAKE HOME ITEMS
– Keep 3 fossils excavated from the Fossil Dig and a dinosaur bookmark
